Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers, Inc., is a private non-profit agency, providing continuous service to the community since 1971. At every level from prevention to residential recovery services, we offer a message of hope to individuals, families, groups, and entire communities. The Center provides a wide range of services for adults whose lives have been affected by their own or another’s use of alcohol or other drugs, by problem gambling, or by mental illness. Licensed, trained professionals offer support, education, and counseling to individuals, families, businesses, other service providers, and the community at large. Full-Time Registered Nurse 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed by the Ohio Board of Nursing· 3 plus years of nursing experience; including preferably with substance use disorders.
  • Knowledgeable about the substance use disorders, family illness model, community resources, and treatment modalities
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Minimum 2 year personal program of recovery if applicable.
  • Must be able to work evenings/weekends and off site as scheduled. 

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Provide medical and treatment services to substance use disorder adults & their families
  • Provide medical services to clients including Medication Assisted Treatment that entails monitoring and reporting symptoms and changes in client status, and administering medications (including injections) under the supervision of Nurse Practitioner.
  • Review all clients’ medical history, medications and clients’ response to medications and provide comprehensive medication education to clients.
  • Provide educational, emotional and psychological support to client and family members through psychotherapy services (individual and group).
  • Protects clients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Documents client care services by charting in client’s record.
  • Modify and participate in treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, standard nursing protocol, state regulations, and the legal implications of nursing practice. Knowledge of basic nursing principles, standards, practices including basic body systems/functions and related medical assessment techniques.
  • Knowledge of medications, their uses, and potential adverse effects, including narcotics, mood altering, and behavior control drugs.
  • Maintains professional standards of ethics, thorough knowledge and implementation of client confidentiality, client rights and grievance policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Peer Review, Utilization Review, agency staff meetings and In-Service trainings as scheduled.
  • Develops/maintains positive personal and agency relationship with all stakeholders including referral sources, community resources, and insurance companies and managed care companies.
  • Relates and works well with staff in professional, team approach.

Pay:

  • $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
