OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

As the leader of this $11.3 million region focused on residential treatment, the primary role of the Regional Director is to provide operational and clinical oversight of the division while enhancing the performance of the division and ensuring the integrity of its operations. The Regional Director has an opportunity to build this entity to be a premier program for the organization. As the clinical and operational leader, the Regional Director is responsible for creating and sustaining a residential treatment program that meets the highest standards of evidence-based practice and quality care. Responsible for driving and enhancing the operational efficiencies of the division, the Regional Director, reports to the Chief Program Officer and interfaces with the organizational leadership, to achieve the long-term vision and sustainability of the division. The Regional Director will continuously champion the services and the system of care in their community to increase their capacity to provide critical services. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Reporting to the Chief Programs Officer, the Regional Director oversees a team of 90 with five direct reports that include a Residential Operations Manager, an Outpatient Clinical Director, Regional Administrative Supervisor, Residential Program Manager (2) and a Foster Care Network Coordinator.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the implementation of the organization’s evidence-based targeted treatment model to achieve service delivery targets and a positive culture that promotes staff wellness and professional development, and quality client experiences.
  • Participates in the region’s strategic planning process, evaluating and advising on long-range planning; devising and implementing strategies that support the clinic’s growth.
  • Develops plans for new operational programming and works to establish cohesive relationships across programs.
  • Collaborates with the division team to deliver services; respond to client and community needs and facilitates a positive work environment with effective teamwork practices.
  • Maintains a system to recruit, orient, train, and evaluate staff in the communities served.
  • Creates and implements new policies and procedures as necessary to assist in improvements.
  • Assures programs are striving to meet the Goals & Objectives from the organization’s Strategic Plan.
  • Effectively participates in the design of and then is ultimately accountable for the implementation of agency and regional annual budgets and strategic plan.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Ensures staff implement evidence-based practices, and best practice protocols, in the delivery of services to clients served; ensuring an integrated treatment approach for all served.
  • Oversees the divisions continuous quality improvement process representative of the organization.
  • Designs and assures implementation of Best Practices and Clinical Quality.
  • Establishes and maintains a Crisis Management and Risk Management System.
  • Creates metrics to evaluate the success of initiatives related to the program.
  • Ensures that all compliance procedures and policies are met and seeks ways to exceed agency minimums for ODJFS, ODMH/ADMH standards.
  • Assures that programs are implementing organization’s clinical models (TIC, NMT & CPS) with fidelity.
  • Deep understanding and applied knowledge of a targeted treatment model that focuses on evidence-based practices.

External Relations

  • Acting as the spokesperson for the region; responds to public relations opportunities building public awareness that enhances the region’s image.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with diverse interest groups, advocacy groups, community leaders, governmental organizations and public and private organizations that engage in similar fields.

Internal Relations

  • Conducts weekly data review and strategic implementation meetings to review approaches that achieve regional service and staff performance targets.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • A demonstrated leader with experiences in managing a broad range of operational and clinical areas and working in diverse clinical and human service environments.
  • Demonstrates a passion for the behavioral health field.
  • A proven ability to have a good relationship with all types of personalities and leadership styles.
  • Brings “a value-add” to the organization and is on the forefront of his/her profession; someone who can make a difference.
  • Fosters team building and leads effectively by persuasion.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSURE

  • At least 5 years' experience in a managerial role of similar size and complexity.
  • Knowledgeable of best practices in the field of behavioral health, mental health treatment, trauma informed care, child welfare or related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity and ability to foster team building as well as a supportive, flexible environment.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health related field is required. Master’s Degree desired
