BH Workforce “Welcome Back Campaign” Information Available

The Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) has made additional information from a recent webinar highlighting Ohio's Welcome Back campaign, including a webinar recording and presentation slides providing information about how providers can benefit from this new and innovative program. This funding opportunity is currently open for eligible Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs) to incentivize people to return to the behavioral healthcare workforce. CBHCs regulated by OhioMHAS and providing Medicaid-covered behavioral health home and community-based services are eligible for funds to support returning staff in direct service positions up to $3,000 each new employee. CBHC’s will also have discretion on providing referral bonuses to existing staff of up to $500.

The Welcome Back campaign seeks to incentivize seasoned professionals to return to the behavioral health field in Ohio communities. Through dedicated funding, OhioMHAS is supporting Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs) in spearheading recruitment initiatives and offering hiring incentives. These funds aim to directly benefit returning behavioral health professionals, ensuring their valued presence in Ohio's wellness workforce. This opportunity is for CBHCs regulated by OhioMHAS that provide Medicaid-covered behavioral health home and community-based services (Provider types 84 & 95).
