Free, Self-Paced CEU Training – An Introduction to Hoarding Disorder The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Homelessness and Housing Resource Center (HHRC) has just released a free, online continuing education course – “An Introduction to Hoarding Disorder”. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) has accredited this course for 1.5 continuing education units (CEUs). The course consists of two chapters, each with articles and opportunities to apply knowledge through journaling and a quiz. The course provides an overview of hoarding disorder, why hoarding is a significant concern when working with people who are unhoused or unstably housed, and strategies for working with individuals who may be in this situation. The course also shares people’s personal experiences of managing their possessions while homeless or unstably housed and the experiences of those who work with people experiencing homelessness.
