NAMD Federal Policy Brief: Behavioral Health Equity
The National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD) recently issued its latest in a series of behavioral health related policy briefs. This most recent brief focused on behavioral health equity. The CDC’s latest overdose data shows significant racial disparities, with Black men and Native American women now experiencing the highest rates of fatal overdose. The NAMD report argues that closing racial disparities in behavioral health conditions and treatment access must be a core aim of our country’s behavioral health strategy.
