Next Generation MyCare Ohio Update
The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) shared an update on the Next Generation MyCare program earlier this month. MyCare Ohio is a managed care program designed for Ohioans who receive BOTH Medicaid and Medicare benefits. The slides and a recording from this webinar are available.
Starting on 1/1/26 there will be four MyCare Ohio plans in all 29 of the current MyCare regions. The plan is for MyCare to be expanded statewide over the 2026 calendar year with all four plans available statewide. The MyCare plans starting in 2026 are Anthem, Buckeye, CareSource, and Molina. Providers in the current regions should reach out to the new plans if they are interested in contracting for MyCare. Many of the plans are proactively contacting providers in the areas of the state that are not currently MyCare regions to sign letters of intent to contract as part of their network adequacy requirements. Providers serving the dually eligible population should seek out contracts with MyCare plans as coordination of benefits is largely required with Medicare plans.
ODM will continue to provide periodic updates throughout the transition period about changes expected and detailed instructions and resources to help take any actions needed prior to implementation of the Next Generation MyCare Ohio plans. Updates and resources on the MyCare Ohio program are available on the ODM website and the MyCare FAQ. Questions or comments related to the MyCare Ohio program can be sent to [email protected].
