OCDP Board Announces “Safe Haven Program” for Licensees

The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board (OCDPB) developed a safe haven program for all licensees and certificate holders. This is a confidential path for individuals to seek help for burnout, mental health, or substance use disorders and a therapeutic alternative to Board action impacting the license or certificate.

The Safe Haven Program provides access to quality clinical screening, evaluation, treatment, long-term monitoring, and support for OCDPB certified clinicians experiencing mental health challenges. Services are provided at no cost to OCDPB licensees. (Licensees may be responsible for the cost of additional evaluations, if deemed clinically necessary). Ohio Administrative Code (O.A.C.) 4758-11-03 ensures that the safe haven program is confidential and non-disciplinary. Your participation will not be disclosed to the board or to your employer.

The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board has partnered with the Ohio Professionals Health Program (OhioPHP) to administer the Safe Haven program. OhioPHP is a nonprofit organization that provides confidential and compassionate support for healthcare professionals with illnesses that may impact their health and well-being.
