Ohio Medicaid Matters Coalition

A new coalition of some of the state’s largest human services agencies, health advocacy associations and hospital systems is working to combat the threat posed to Ohio’s economy and workforce by possible massive cuts to Ohio Medicaid. The mission of the Ohio Medicaid Matters Coalition is promoting Medicaid as a foundation of health and economic stability, recognizing that access to healthcare empowers Ohioans to work, contribute and drive economic growth.  The Ohio Council is actively engaged in developing, shaping and supporting efforts to advocate for sustaining Medicaid coverage in HB 96, Ohio’s SFY 26-27 state operating budget, and addressing the “trigger language” that would immediately terminate Group VIII coverage (Medicaid expansion) should the federal government reduce the FMAP below 90% for this eligibility group.

The Ohio Medicaid Matter Coalition is actively seeking personal stories about how coverage through Medicaid expansion is supporting individuals or families is maintaining health, caregiving for loved ones, and working. Click here to view a story that recently aired on Spectrum newsPlease share this link with anyone interested in sharing their story – support is available to help individuals in sharing their experiences.
