Ohio to Invest $94.5 Million to Expand Broadband Access, Broadband Ohio Investing $50 Million in Multi-county Expansion Project
This week, Governor Mike DeWine's office announced two new state investments to increase broadband access across Ohio. The first project is a state investment of $94.5 million that would provide 35,000 households with affordable, high-speed internet access. This project is a part of the Ohio Residential Broadband Expansion Grant (ORBEG) program, which provides funding to two internet service providers to conduct six projects across 23 counties. The second project is a state investment of $50 million to support broadband expansion to approximately 38,000 addressable locations in Southwest Ohio. Adams, Brown and Clermont counties are a part of the Multi-County Last Mile Fiber Build Pilot Program. The project aims to have high-speed broadband access to every unserved and underserved address within the tri-county region.
