OhioMHAS Bureau of Recovery Supports Announces New Name for Community Integration Team

The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services’ (OhioMHAS) Bureau of Recovery Supports has announced that Community Transitions is now Community Integration. You can view the new Community Integration Webpage for additional information.

Sometimes individuals with disabilities, including behavioral health, receive treatment in institutions (such as nursing homes or hospitals) and are not living in the most integrated care settings. The goal of the Community Integration team is to support sustainable, person-centered transitions so individuals can live and recover within integrated communities.

Programs under Community Integration include the Residential State Supplement (RSS), which provides financial assistance to adults with disability to help with accommodations, supervision, and personal care services; and “Recovery Requires a Community”, which helps individuals diagnosed with MH or SUD challenges by providing financial assistance for transitioning from nursing facilities to sustainable community living.

If you or someone you know is seeking support for transitioning back into their community, additional Information about criteria and enrollment processes are available on the Community Integration Resources fact sheet
