OhioMHAS Implemented Multi-Factor Authentication for iPortal on Dec 9th
The Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) has announced that they have implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for iPortal beginning on December 9, 2024.
MFA adds an extra layer of security to iPortal accounts by requiring not only your password but also a second method of verification when signing into iPortal using your OHID. It makes our applications such as GFMS, LACTS, CE, and others more secure and provides the benefits of enhanced security and reduced risk of unauthorized access.
Set up MFA inside OHID today: To add MFA to your existing OHID account, you must first log into OHID.ohio.gov and click Account Settings. Next, choose 2-Step verification and follow the directions. Check out our videos on How to Set Up an OHID and How to Set Up MFA for an OHID.
After Dec. 9th, when you log into iPortal you will enter your OHID and password, and then you will be prompted to verify through the second authentication method. Please note the MFA process does not interfere with updating or resetting your OHID password. If iPortal users need any additional assistance setting up MFA, they can open an OIS helpdesk ticket.
