Proposed Amendments to OAC Chapters 5122-24 – 5122-28

The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) has filed proposed amendments to OAC Chapters 5122-24 through 5122-28 pertaining to licensure and certification procedures for community behavioral health centers, as part of their five year rule review process. This is the second posting of proposed rule changes. OhioMHAS revised their initial rule amendments after reviewing stakeholder comments from the previous comment period in March of this year.

The updated proposed changes have addressed many of the concerns we discussed with members after the initial release of proposed amendments. A summary of the updated proposed rules can be found in the Rule Memorandum and Business Impact Analysis documents.

Comments on the updated proposed rules are due to OhioMHAS and the Common Sense Initiative (CSI) offices by Friday, November 1st, 2024 at 5pm. Comments should be sent through the “Launch” Button for the "Community Behavioral Health Services Certification - Procedure" rules webpage on OhioMHAS’s Draft Rules Website; or can be submitted directly via email selecting this link. Rules submitted through that link will automatically be sent to OhioMHAS and the Common Sense Initiative (CSI) Office.
