RFP Due Nov 15th: Overdose Prevention & Harm Reduction
With support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) is pleased to offer a funding opportunity for harm reduction organizations to provide input on the development of tools and resources that support public health and public safety collaboration in preventing and responding to drug overdose.
Through this funding opportunity, NACCHO will provide up to $10,000 in funding to up to five (5) harm reduction organizations to participate in a workgroup to provide feedback during the resource development process. The harm reduction workgroup will serve as one of three groups providing input on resource development (along with public health and public safety) and will ensure that the voices of lived and living experience are central to this process.

The Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services’ (OhioMHAS) Office of Community Services has announced the release of a Request for Applications (RFA) for the purpose of soliciting applications from eligible applicants for expansion of services of existing certified peer-run organizations. The application deadline is October 18th, 2024, at 3pm.
RFA # 63: Expansion of Peer Run Organizations, seeks to select multiple organizations for this funding opportunity. The responsibilities of the selected applicants will include expansion of services as outlined in the Scope of Work. Eligible applicants implementing a new Peer Run Organization (PRO) will be eligible for up to $150,000, and PRO’s implementing new services/programming will be eligible for up to $65,000 during FY 2025. The funding period will run from November 1st, 2024, through June 30th, 2025.
OhioMHAS will award funding only to qualified non-profit organizations or governmental entities that provide services as outlined in the Scope of Work and who are eligible to run PROs, as defined in Ohio Administrative Code 5122-29-16. Preference will be giving to PROs whose plans include expanding services to diverse populations, such as youth and young adults, LGBTQIA+, deaf and hard of hearing, families impacted by BH, BIPOC populations, veterans, and elderly adults. Preference will also be given to PROs in rural and Appalachian areas.
