SansWrite Rollout for OTP and Psychiatric Hospitals – Training on Feb 13th

Beginning last Fall, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) Licensure and Certification team began transitioning to an electronic web-based platform, SansWrite, to complete on-site surveys, issue findings to providers and review plans of correction, replacing the current paper process. Community behavioral health services providers were the first to join the new system, and staff are now preparing to roll out the platform for opioid treatment program (OTP) providers and private psychiatric hospitals (PPH).

SansWrite is a specialized compliance-monitoring platform that helps government agencies and regulated businesses more effectively work together to correct findings and prevent recurrence. All certified and licensed providers will be transitioned to SansWrite. Learn more about the transition to the SansWrite online survey platform.

For each licensed OTP provider and PPH, OhioMHAS has purchased one paid connection to SansWrite. This connection will be identified as the SansWrite Administrator.  This connection will be assigned to the person identified in LACTS as the “Contact Person Information” in the LACTS Program Information page. If a provider wishes to change who is assigned as the SansWrite Administrator for the OhioMHAS paid connection, please send an email to [email protected] or call 614.752.8880.  A provider can purchase additional SansWrite connections for $29 per year, per certificate or license. SansWrite can transfer the additional paid connections when there is a change in staff at no cost.

Opioid Treatment Program Provider Training Information — Feb. 13

Beginning the week of Feb. 3, OhioMHAS will start the transition process for Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) providers who have a scheduled onsite survey on or after Monday, Feb. 3. They will be the first to have access to SansWrite and will receive an email with instructions how to access the platform. They will receive the onsite survey findings through the platform. Subsequently, providers will submit plans of correction for the onsite survey findings in the platform.

All OTP providers will begin transitioning to SansWrite on Feb.13. To ensure providers are equipped for the transition, the OhioMHAS Licensure & Certification team and representatives from SansWrite will host a training webinar on Thursday, Feb, 13 from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
