SB 138 Governing ADAMHS Boards Moves Forward
On April 9th, the Senate Addiction & Community Revitalization Committee heard testimony related to SB138 (formerly SB 105), modifying Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Laws.
The updates address Board and Provider contracting processes, audit and investigation guidance, and transition of care protections for patients in need of behavioral health services. After several years of negotiations, the Ohio Council submitted comments in favor of the currently proposed language.
The legislation held a third hearing on Wednesday April, 30 and reported the bill out. It will now be scheduled for a full vote in the Senate. The Ohio Council will keep members informed on any further movement on this bill as it continues to work through the legislative process.
