Statewide OhioMHAS Peer Recovery Supporter Trainings: Continues in September

The Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) is pleased to share the their fall 40-hour Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) training opportunity calendar, which are open to prospective certified Peer Recovery Supporters from all Ohio counties! Please feel free to share these statewide trainings with your networks. A full list of PRS trainings may be found on the OhioMHAS training calendar: https://mha.ohio.gov/community-partners/peer-supporters/40-hour-peer-recovery-supporter-training-calendar/40-hour-peer-recovery-supporter-training-calendar.

The OhioMHAS 40-hour PRS Training is a live, interactive training that teaches prospective Certified Peer Recovery Supporters (CPRS) in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use issue to use their experience to help their Peers in recovery. Prospective CPRS will engage in role-play activities and learn the skills necessary to offer high quality Peer Support. Upon successful completion of PRS training, prospective CPRS will be eligible to apply for Adult Peer Recovery Supporter Certification in Ohio. To attend training, you must be personally in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use issue and be willing to share your personal story appropriately in a group setting.

The PRS training is free – there is no cost to register for or to attend OhioMHAS PRS training. All registration is completed directly through the training host, who will confirm if a training has space available (some training courses listed may be full). Please see the training calendar dates and contact information.
