Telehealth Controlled Substances Prescribing Extended Through 2026

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), in coordination with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), has announced a fourth temporary extension of the telehealth prescribing flexibilities that allow controlled substances to be prescribed via telehealth without a prior in-person visit.

This extension will remain in effect through December 31, 2026, ensuring continuity of care while long-term regulations are developed.
